Today’s Face - 01/02/13
From left to right: MAC Moisturecover concealer in NW20, Revlon Brow Fantasy in Dark Brown, NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base, Chanel Rouge Coco Shine lipstick in Boy, NARS #3 mini eye shader brush, Inglot Freedom System Face Blush #48, Clarins Super Restorative Total Eye Concentrate (from Sephora kit), Clarins UV Plus HP Day Screen High Protection SPF 40 (from Sephora kit), NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 30 in Alaska, Origins GinZing Brightening Mascara in Black, Urban Decay Naked Palette, Real Techniques stippling brush, Real Techniques blush brush.
Happy 2013! I spent my first day of the new year quietly nursing a week-long hangover and assembling a piece of Ikea furniture. In my old apartment I had a nine-drawer Alex and it worked well enough, but it never felt perfect. I had a lot of wasted space in the back of every drawer and due to its narrow shape, different types of products spilled over from one drawer to the next. When looking for makeup storage a second time, I decided to go with a six-drawer Alex instead. I have fewer drawers, but the shorter, wider version gives me more useable space. Each product type now has its own drawer.
Now that all my products are unboxed and (somewhat) organized, I can finally get back to wearing different products everyday! With everything at my disposal for the first time in ages, I immediately reached for my original Naked Palette and worked backwards, selecting products I love and miss so much.
Using a mini shader brush from my favorite NARS travel set, I applied Urban Decay’s Naked all over my lid with a little Virgin to highlight my brow bone and inner corner. Following the eyes, I applied a bright pink Inglot blush with a Real Techniques brush and blended until my arm fell off. I finished with a quick swipe of glossy pink lipstick from Chanel and ran out the door. I literally ran. I can’t remember the last time I was that late for work.

Today’s Face - 09/20/12
From left to right: Garnier Skin Renew BB Cream with SPF 15 in Light/Medium, Real Techniques stippling brush, Revlon ColorStay Brow Enhancer in Blackened Brown/Taupe, YSL Touche Éclat, Fairydrops mascara, Hourglass Extreme Sheen lip gloss in Siren, e.l.f. Studio blush brush, Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in Exposed, Maybelline Color Tattoo cream eyeshadow in Barely Beige.
I blindly picked products out of my handbag this morning when I was still half asleep and this is what I ended up with. I’m not sure what kind of look I’m going for, but I’m just going to run with it, ok?
