Happy 2013! I spent my first day of the new year quietly nursing a week-long hangover and assembling a piece of Ikea furniture. In my old apartment I had a nine-drawer Alex and it worked well enough, but it never felt perfect. I had a lot of wasted space in the back of every drawer and due to its narrow shape, different types of products spilled over from one drawer to the next. When looking for makeup storage a second time, I decided to go with a six-drawer Alex instead. I have fewer drawers, but the shorter, wider version gives me more useable space. Each product type now has its own drawer.
Now that all my products are unboxed and (somewhat) organized, I can finally get back to wearing different products everyday! With everything at my disposal for the first time in ages, I immediately reached for my original Naked Palette and worked backwards, selecting products I love and miss so much.
Using a mini shader brush from my favorite NARS travel set, I applied Urban Decay’s Naked all over my lid with a little Virgin to highlight my brow bone and inner corner. Following the eyes, I applied a bright pink Inglot blush with a Real Techniques brush and blended until my arm fell off. I finished with a quick swipe of glossy pink lipstick from Chanel and ran out the door. I literally ran. I can’t remember the last time I was that late for work.
